Actors' Enterprise, The
The Actors' Enterprise was founded to provide affordable coaching to the hundreds of NYC actors who want to feel more fulfilled and in control of their acting careers. As actors, not only are we artists but we are also business owners. And no business could survive without a solid business plan, savvy marketing, and effective follow through. That's why I am committed to helping actors learn the ins-and-outs of owning their acting business so that they can feel completely empowered on their career path. I provide optimistic, one-on-one coaching that is affordable, comprehensive and, above all, FUN! Some of the areas that are covered are:
• Marketing/PR (headshots, resumes, postcards, business cards, websites, submissions, etc.)
• Business Management (expenses, goals, tracking, finding/creating a supportive "day" job, unions, etc.)
• Audition Strategies (monologues/cold reading technique, interviewing, defining "type", etc.)
• [ ........ ] Fill In the Blank - It's your career, isn't it? Tell me what you need and I'll find a way to provide!

Acting Classes

Students prepare scenes from the drama of the world?including Shakespeare?and take part in improvisations. And we discuss the technical meaning of these sentences by Eli Siegel, the founder of Aesthetic Realism, in a lesson he gave to actors:
?Acting shows that you don?t have to be fettered to yourself. You can be other people....Acting is a certain way of taking the contraries of the world. It is a way of being somebody else for the purpose of coming back home immediately. You take a trip in order to find out who you are.? Classes are bi-weekly on Mondays, 6-7:30 PM at 141 Greene Street in SoHo, New York City, taught by Anne Fielding, Director of the Aesthetic Realism Theatre Company. Ms. Fielding is an Obie Award winner, Chekov?s Ivanov. She has appeared Off-Broadway including in musical theatre; at the New York and American Shakespeare Festivals and on TV here and in Canada. Semester, 7 classes, $50 ? Audit, per class $8 ?

Howard Meyer's Acting Program
Sanford Meisner, a great 20th-century acting teacher, defined acting as "the art of living truthfully in imaginary circumstances." In our classes we help you foster a connection to your truths; what you value and where you feel deeply. You will learn how to apply these insights to the creative process of acting, wherein you will realize the joy of full creative expression. We draw on an array of exercises developed by the best theater minds of the 20th-century to help you build a craft that is personal and accessible.
